U.S. Field Hockey National Training Center at Virginia Beach

Established through a joint partnership between Virginia Beach and USA Field Hockey, the USA Field Hockey Training Center features two artificial turf fields, lighting, offices and locker rooms, parking and an equipment room. Construction on the project began in late spring, 2001.

In September, 2008, the USA Field Hockey Training Facility took a proactive stance to combat Staph and MRSA infection with the professional application of GamePlan-4-Turf complete antimicrobial system for synthetic turf fields from Pioneer Athletics and mPact Environmental Solutions.

To prepare the field for the antimicrobial treatment, it was first disinfected with mPerial® Disinfectant/Detergent. Next, a two-tiered, electrostatic boom sprayer was used to apply GamePlan-4-Turf to the field. GamePlan-4-Turf's key component is powered by ÆGIS Microbe Sheild®, the most advanced, EPA registered antimicrobial available.

The system creates an invisible barrier on synthetic turf fields to control or eliminate the growth of a wide array of bacteria, mold and mildew - and it is warranted for 2 years between applications.

University of Illinois

The University of Illinois, in Urbana, Illinois is also now prepared to combat infection-causing microbial contamination and odor on all surfaces, equipment and fabrics within their sports facilities - thanks to GamePlan-4-Sports from Pioneer Athletics and mPact Environmental Solutions.

GamePlan-4-Sports is an advanced antimicrobial program helps to protect the facilities, equipment, towels and uniforms that athletes, staff and trainers use each day. The system provides a long-lasting layer of defense against a wide array of bacteria, mold and mildew.

The following facilities have been treated with the GamePlan-4-Sports system and are now warranted for 3 years between applications:

  Men's and women's weight rooms, training rooms, hydrotherapy room
   
• George Huff Hall
  Track locker rooms and bathrooms, training room, wrestling locker room, wrestling room, and all mats and pads
